BetMGM Expands NBA Data Collaboration With Sportradar • LegalSportsbetting

BetMGM Sportsbook has announced the extension of its collaboration with Sportradar in order to have access to products and services such as official NBA optical tracking data. The arrangement will allow the online casino to expand its prop markets and same-game parlay portfolio with in-play betting markets.

BeMGM will Gain Access to Products and Services by Utilizing Official NBA Optical Tracking Data

The agreement, according to the press release, gives BetMGM access to “next-generation products” for the first time.

Optical monitoring enables a corporation, such as Sportradar, to track players in real-time while providing real-time data about a specific player’s position and orientation. Through its agreement with the NBA, BetMGM will benefit from programs that employ NBA optical tracking data uniquely offered by Sportradar.

BetMGM Chief Product Officer Jarrod Schwarz stated his excitement about the arrangement extension as the new NBA season began on October 24. He stated in a Sportradar press release:

“BetMGM has been able to improve our product offerings thanks to Sportradar’s league data since we first partnered with them in 2018.” We anticipate a fantastic NBA season and look forward to exploiting this data for years to come.”

Sportradar’s Chief Commercial Officer, Eduard Blonk, commented, “We’re pleased that our value-added products and services will enable the potential of NBA optical tracking data for BetMGM while promoting the return on investment of our partnership with the NBA.”

The NBA and Sportradar have Signed an Agreement Renewal until 2021

In 2021, the NBA and Sportradar signed a multiyear collaborative arrangement. The firms established a partnership in which the NBA will leverage Sportradar’s worldwide and vast capabilities to expand its US operations, expand its overseas footprint, and drive fan engagement.

The NBA received an equity investment in Sportradar as part of this new arrangement, which began with the 2023-24 NBA season.

This collaboration extends a cooperation that began in 2016 when Sportradar and the NBA released a multiyear agreement that has made Sportradar the official source of real-time NBA League Statistics.

Sportradar’s Portfolio Continues to Grow

Sportradar has recently formed several collaborations with well-known operators. The sports technological company extended its collaboration with Caesars Sportsbook in July, giving them access to NBA optical tracking data.

US Soccer partnered with Sportradar in August to grant the data company the rights to collect, license, and transmit its official betting along with media data to US and worldwide markets. Simultaneously, Sportradar agreed to extend its media collaboration with NASCAR.

Sportradar and Huddle established a contract earlier this month to boost Huddle’s online betting odds stream.
