Caesars Entertainment Announces the Opening of Tropicana Casino Pennsylvania
Last week, Caesars opened the second of its two online casinos in Pennsylvania. Caesars said in a statement:
“The new iCasino app and the online casino experience offer Pennsylvania customers a wide variety of classic and modern casino games, including American and European Roulette, market-leading slot games from the best providers, Live Dealer Blackjack, Poker, and Baccarat, along with digital classics like Video Poker and many more.”

Caesars is Increasing its Market Share in Pennsylvania
Caesars is expressing its commitment to the Keystone State with the second launch of a casino site under the Harrah’s Philadelphia license.
Harrah’s Philadelphia already owns Caesars PA Casino and has expanded to include the newest Tropicana Casino. Pennsylvania has the country’s largest online casino market. The Keystone State achieved $181.5 million in online casino revenue in March, beating its previous record of $ 166.2 million in December.
Pennsylvania has set revenue records in four of the last six months. Harrah’s Philadelphia is the sixth-highest-earning license holder in the state, with $16.3 million in income from only one operator in 2023.
The top two license holders, Hollywood Penn National and Rivers Philadelphia, operate many online casinos and generate the majority of revenue in Pennsylvania. Hollywood Penn National has already earned $212.6 million this year, compared to Rivers Philadelphia’s $107.3 million.
It’s unlikely that Harrah’s Philadelphia will ever achieve that level of success. However, Caesars is aggressively pursuing further market share.
Since rebranding in August, Caesars Sportsbook PA has seen the benefits of its sports betting app pay off. Caesars finished fourth in handle in March for the first time, passing Barstool Sportsbook.
CEO Tom Reeg noted in a 2022 Q1 earnings call that he has always had Pennsylvania on his radar.
“In terms of building share, we are undeniably late to the game in these states.” We’ll be cautious about how much money we throw at them, but we’ll also tie them into our brick-and-mortar business. We have many consumers from Pennsylvania in Chester and Atlantic City. We anticipate to maintain our market share gains.”
